The Brave and the Bold got its start in 1955, featuring Viking Price, Silent Knight, and the Golden Gladiator. It stepped up the action in 1960 with issue #28’s introduction of a new team dubbed the Justice League of America. That group, which featured Batman, Superman, Hawkman, Green Lantern, and others was an immediate hit for DC, and it was soon spun off into its own title.
Meanwhile, The Brave and the Bold began specializing in Batman team-ups with a wide variety of co-stars. These action-packed issues continued until 1983 when the series concluded with issue #200.
