Cerebus is one of several comics that takes a satirical jab at Conan the Barbarian. What sets Cerebus apart is the sheer hipness of it all. Groucho Marx stowing away in the hold of a pirate ship with a barrel of stand-up comics, and the pious priest, Roach, on a holy mission to convert the heathen. All the while, Cerebus storms and stews. He is a three-foot barbarian with a progressively worsening attitude. It’s no wonder Cerebus has become a cult classic.
